International Student, Passed 1st time at 75!!
I found out today that I passed, I'm an international student, been out of school for 6 years. But here I am, passing NCLEX at first try, this still feels like a dream. I am so grateful to God.
I had my exam on 10/31/2018, on halloween, so I had some trick or treat questions, the treaty ones being the easy ones and the tricky ones which I stared at for almost 4 mins wondering I'm not gonna go crazy. LOL.
I finished 2 hours later, I cried my eyes out when I was done, it was crazy, I got a lot of Psych and Pharma questions, about 20 SATAS, 5 drag and drops and some priorities question. When the computer shut me off at 75, I didn't know when the tears started to roll down my cheeks, I sat there and wondered what in the world just happened, it felt like I was answering some History questions and not nursing questions, some drugs I have never heard of in my life. It was really difficult, but U world really prepared me.
I finished all the questions and on my 1st assessment I had a high chance of passing at 45th percentile and the 2nd assessment I had a very high chance of passing at 72nd percentile. At the start i wasn't doing well with most of the questions, especially psych and fundamentals, I struggled a lot in these areas. To weeks prior to my exam date, I quit my job at the store I was working and I resumed reading full time, I hear people say to study for3-4 hours everyday, please do whatever works for you, try to find a schedule that fits you, I always feel bad when I hear people say I study 4hrs everyday whereas I had to study 8 or more hours and i was still struggling.
I do 75-100 Q a day and I go over the ones I miss, i do them again until I have no missed questions, and I always have multiple systems just to get used to setup of the exam. When I was focusing on one system at a time, I realized I was passing more than when I had several systems at a time, because I always guessed the answers to the priority questions if I was working on just a particular system and I felt that wasn't helping me, there won't be any opportunity to guess on Nclex.
Mark klimek audios too were amazing, I listened to the 12parts back to back. That guy is a genius!
