A prospective cohort study was conducted to assess the role of daily alcohol consumption in the occurence of breast carcinoma. The inverstigators reported a 5-year relative risk of 1.4 for people who consume alcohol compared to those who do not. The 95% confidence interval was 1.02 - 1.85. Which was following p values is most consistent with the result described above?
A. 0.04
B. 0.06
C. 0.09
D. 0.11
E. 0.20


The answer is A , i know but can anyone explain me how and why?
Can anyone tell me how to interpret the confidence interval, especially can anyone explain the relationship between confidence interval and p value.

the answer is A. the question ask about significance. For 95%confidence interval its p value should be less than 0.05.
