i've read some things on this forum that have said that the actual exam is easier and others say its harder?
is the real exam similar to the 2ck NBMEs?
please give me some feed back. Im not asking for any questions from the test, just to know the level of its difficulty in comparison to uworld?

HARDER Definitely harder than both UW and NBME!!! Be prepared for a harder test.

THe questions have a lot more information than the two Self assesments, take longer to read.

On you NBME SA you have to get a higher percent of correct answers than the UW to get the same score.

My personal observation.

I AGREE (unfortunately)!

I took my CK mid August and thought the NBMEs were a joke compared to real CK. Many were tricky too, where you have it narrowed down two and both were very similar to each other. That's how it consumed most of my time. I don't mean to scare. The good ol days when it was just Step 1 that was supposed to be a killer, are over - CK is a beast too now.

I just finished my CK September 1.What I can say is the questions are mix with easy, average and difficult.I agree that the questions are tricky few questions are the same concept as uworld and nbme but overall I cannot compare it to nbme and uworld.I have different items in each block and my last block is 36 but most of the q's are longer here and I run out of time at the end and need to read fast.Your greatest enemy is the time, for me I have to read it in 1 minute and answer it in 3 seconds in order to finish it in time.My first 2 blocks I was able to go back to my marked q's but the rest no time I cannot do it.So my advice is to practice reading q's in a minute weather it is short or long ones.Practice doing more q's and do it timed mode.Don't forget to practice the USMLE fred they have the updated one now I have 3-4 q's directly from there. My suggestion is you skip the drug add and biostat question and come back later, they purposely place it in the middle of the block and don't spend much time calculating.I have one question in biostat that I just quess because I don't have time to solve it the rest you solve fast.Read fast fast fast and get the clues and mai point ,highligthing help me too.If the questions are really long read the last line first. That's all I can say

I couldn't agree with you more... This exam was so F'd up!! It was such a tricky exam... you read the question stem and just when u know what the diagnosis is boom!! they add a little something that makes two answers look identically appealing. I did well on NBM# 4 and UW assessment and to be honest with you I do not feel good....I put serious time into studying for this exam. I did UW twice, DIT videos, Master the Boards, Kaplan vids, Step Up to USMLE2 the list goes on. I have both books highlighted annotated and underlined. I even looked up answers after exam and found out that I was wrong on a lot of them. I was shooting for an Anesthesia residency and I have to seriously reconsider my options after this exam. Step 2 is just as hard if not harder than step 1. I know ppl like to hear positive feedback, but this was my experience. My colleagues all told me that it was straightforward and it was easier that UW etc... I just don't know what to make of this.
