Hi,

I have finished medical school in November and currently on the interview trial for the 2013 match. I am considering to use my extra time in these few months to study and take step 3. I have been researching online to see if fellowship programs put any weight on the Step 3. However, I found no clear correlation at all. It seems they weight what type of program you entered (university vs. community), LORs and research. I will study hard but because I haven't done any training in residency yet, I might not be able to score high in the 90s.

I am interviewing for Internal Medicine. The fellowship I am considering is Infectious Disease, however, I may change my mind during my PGY-2 year. I am not considering Cardiology at all.
