Step 3 CCS for Dec2011
My friend just did the test, and he told me these were the case topics:
ruptured AAA, viral croup, vaginitis, Anorexia w/unstable bradycardia; STEMI, Sickle cell crisis, COPD exacerbation, Cdiff colitis (out patient).
FYI... a lot of these pt didn't walk into the door complaining of these issues. You had to uncover the problem. For example, the AAA came into an outpatient office and complainted of back pain- so if you didn't do an abd exam you would miss the AAA. And the anorexia girl was stable, but then became unresponsive and the parents refused a pacer for the brady.
As for the MCQ portion, the question stems are getting longer and longer. You have 75 sec to read and choose an answer. I don't know how to suggest you read faster but just be aware of it.
